Can we make payments?

Yes — families may set up payment arrangements through Club Administration.

Is there a commitment fee?

Yes — a $200 Commitment Fee is required to secure your roster spot.

What are the commitment deadlines?

U13–U19: May 16
U8–U12: May 23
U21: May 31

How soon will we receive tryout results?

Most families receive results within 24–72 hours.

What if my player cannot attend tryouts?

U8–U12 FAQ

What league do U8–U12 teams play in?

All U8–U12 teams compete in the NextGen League.

How many practices per week?

U8–U10: 2–3 sessions per week. U11–U12: 3 sessions per week.

How long are practices?

75 minutes.

Where do teams train?

Altamont School or Lily Field.

What is the season schedule?

Fall: August–October/November. Spring: February–May.

How many tournaments are included?

One tournament per season is included.

What format do they play?

U8–U10: 7v7. U11–U12: 9v9.

When are games played?

Primarily weekends; Friday matches are rare.

How far do teams travel?

About 90% of matches are within the Birmingham metro area.

Is futsal included?

Futsal is optional for an additional fee.

What gear is required?

Players must wear their FC Birmingham training shirt to every session.

What size ball is required?

Size 4.

Can my child play multiple sports?

Yes — but FC Birmingham should be the primary commitment during the season.

What is the playing time philosophy?

Balanced playing time is encouraged. Development is the priority.

U13–U19 FAQ

Where do U13–U19 teams train?

All U13–U19 teams train at Lily Field.

How many practices per week?

Three sessions per week.

How long are practices?

90 minutes.

What leagues do teams play in?

U13–U14: ASA State League or NextGen. U15–U19: National 1 League (N1L).

How many tournaments are included?

One per season. N1L showcase TBD.

Do teams travel?

Yes — mostly regional, with occasional overnight trips.

Do players receive strength & conditioning?

Yes — integrated into training.

Do you support college recruiting?

Yes — highlight film support, outreach guidance, and player profiles.

Can players move between teams?

Yes — based on development and team needs.

Ball size?

Size 5.

Playing time?

U13–U14: meaningful minutes. U15–U19: earned.

U21 FAQ

What league does U21 compete in?

UPSL Division 1.

Where does U21 train?

Carver High School.

How many practices per week?

Three sessions per week.

August–December.

Are scouts present?

Yes — UPSL regularly draws evaluators.

Is U21 a pathway to the senior team?

Yes — also a pathway to college and professional opportunities.

Fitness expectation?

Players should maintain 120‑minute match fitness.
