FC Birmingham opened up the season against the defending Divisional Runner-up Atlanta United Academy. Atlanta controlled possession in the 1st half as FCB elected to sit back. Atlanta scored a goal at the end of the 1st half and they held that scoreline until a 2nd goal came late in the 2nd half off of the face of an Atlanta United player. Coach Trey Knox was pleased with the performance and said that they have something to grow from and they are looking forward to traveling on the road to face Augusta United on Saturday afternoon.
