Full Time: Rebuilding from a Season of Lessons

The Spring 2025 season has officially ended for FC Birmingham’s men’s program. It was, without question, the toughest season in the club’s history.

The team struggled to find consistency, chemistry, and confidence. While there were small moments of progress, the season was clearly a rebuilding year.

Coaching Changes Ahead

Head Coach Josh Martinez has stepped down to focus on playing. He took over under difficult conditions after Coach Gabriel Greguol stepped away for personal reasons.

“We’re thankful to Josh for stepping up when we needed him most,” said club leadership.

The club is now searching for a new Head Coach to lead the men’s program into its next chapter.

U23 Program Paused for Fall

The club will pause the U23 team for the Fall 2025 season. The U23s faced many challenges, including injuries, roster movement, and limited depth. These factors made it hard to stay competitive.

FC Birmingham is now considering placing a Reserve team in a local adult league. This would allow players to keep gaining match experience while the club focuses on rebuilding the Senior team.

WPSL Season Ends This Weekend

The FCB Women are still competing. They’ll finish their season on the road this weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee. The women’s side has shown great progress and remains a bright spot for the club.

“We’re starting to build something special with this group,” said one coach. “It’s exciting, and we look forward to continuing next summer.”
