The home opener at Pleasant Grove Stadium delivered an exciting and hard-fought contest as FC Birmingham battled back to secure a 3-3 draw against North Georgia United FC in a match filled with action and drama.

North Georgia United got off to a fast start, taking an early lead that put FC Birmingham on the back foot. Despite the pressure, FC Birmingham responded quickly as Michael Brew leveled the score at 1-1. However, NGU continued to press forward and struck twice more, pushing their lead to 3-1 and leaving the home side with a mountain to climb.

FC Birmingham, determined not to let the home crowd down, clawed their way back into the match. Bailey Harris netted a crucial goal to bring the score to 3-2, giving the team and their supporters renewed hope. The equalizer finally came in the dying minutes of the game, as Toussaint Boulaz found the back of the net to level the score at 3-3, much to the delight of the FC Birmingham faithful.

A key tactical shift saw Justice Brasher moved to the attacking midfield (#10) role, where he flourished, providing two vital assists that helped fuel FC Birmingham’s comeback. Additionally, FC Birmingham Academy graduate Juan Dominguez made a crucial impact with his assist for Boulaz’s equalizing goal.

Blake Walton, just 17 years old, stood between the posts for FC Birmingham, stepping in for Nunez, who was serving a one-match suspension after receiving a red card in the previous game against Kalonji Pro-Profile. Walton handled the pressure well, playing a significant role in keeping the score level late in the game.

Despite the draw, the resilience and fight shown by FC Birmingham will give the team plenty of confidence as they prepare for their next match.

FC Birmingham will travel to face UMA FC on Sunday, September 15th at Calloway Stadium in what promises to be another thrilling encounter.
