Our Impact at a Glance
These numbers reflect the heart of our mission — expanding access, removing barriers, and creating real opportunities for Birmingham’s youth.
Why We Exist
In Birmingham, talent is everywhere — opportunity isn’t.
Too many young athletes in our city face barriers that have nothing to do with talent or desire. Families are navigating a youth sports landscape that has become expensive, exclusive, and confusing. Kids who love the game are being left behind simply because the system wasn’t built for them.
The biggest obstacles we see every day are:
- Cost — families priced out before they even begin
- Access — limited field space and inconsistent training environments
- Transportation — long drives across the city for practices and games
- Pathways — no clear route from youth soccer to college or the next level
- Support — players who need guidance beyond the field
FC Birmingham was created to change that. We exist to remove barriers, open doors, and give every child — regardless of background or income — a real chance to grow as a player and as a person.
What We Believe
- Every child deserves a safe place to play
- Every family deserves clarity, honesty, and support
- Every player deserves coaches who care about them as people
- Every community deserves access to high‑quality soccer
- Every dream deserves a pathway
Soccer is the tool. Opportunity is the mission. Birmingham is the reason.

Future Initiative: Workforce Development Program
As FC Birmingham grows, we aim to launch a Workforce Development Program that gives high school and college students hands‑on experience in broadcasting, media, coaching, operations, and administration. This program is not yet active, but represents one of our most exciting future opportunities for community impact and corporate partnership.
Broadcasting & Media
Future roles in live match production, commentary, camera operation, and post‑match media creation.
Social Media & Marketing
Opportunities for students to learn digital storytelling, analytics, and brand communication.
Coaching & Player Support
Assistant coaching roles and exposure to player development methodology as part of a future pathway.

To attract serious college students — and to support local high school programs — we plan to offer stipends for interns. Sponsor and donor support will make this program possible and help us build the next generation of Birmingham leaders.
Our Home Fields: Today and Tomorrow
Future Semi-Pro Home: Gardendale High School
Beginning in Spring 2026, FC Birmingham’s men’s and women’s semi‑pro teams will play their home matches at Gardendale High School.
This move gives us a more intimate, energetic matchday environment and a concentrated footprint in North Jefferson County — serving families in Gardendale, Fultondale, North Birmingham, Morris, Kimberly, and as far north as Cullman.
Youth Home Fields: Lily Field & Altamont
Our youth academy continues to train and compete at Lily Field and the Altamont School field — two core locations that have been essential to our growth and identity.
These partnerships provide safe, high‑quality training environments and keep us rooted in the communities we serve.
Serving Birmingham Beyond the Field
Free Clinics & Camps
We host free and low‑cost clinics that introduce the game to new players and expand access in underserved neighborhoods.
School & Community Partnerships
We collaborate with schools, churches, and community organizations to bring soccer, mentorship, and positive role models directly to youth.
Leadership & Mentorship
Older players are encouraged to give back through mentorship, volunteering at clinics, and serving as role models for the next generation.
Investing in the Coaches Who Shape Our Players
In Summer 2025, we hosted two coaches from Eintracht Frankfurt for a full‑day coaching education event. It was one of the most impactful experiences our staff has ever had — coaches left inspired, equipped, and energized, and our players felt the difference immediately.
With additional support, we plan to expand this into a recurring summer series, bringing in international coaches, college coaches, and performance specialists to raise the standard of coaching across our club and our city.
